Chronicles of Valkyria Anime Starts Broadcast Run in April!

Finally the broadcast date edges closer! "Chronicles of Valkyria" (戦場のヴァルキュリア) presents a special stage featuring the director and main cast of the animation on the 20th during the Tokyo Anime Fair 2009 (東京国際アニメフェア2009)!

There was a huge turnout of fans present for the affair - having snapped up the limited tickets in the blink of an eye; evidence that the broadcast which will start its run in April, is hot on the radar.

"Chronicles of Valkyria" was released in 2008 as a PS3 simulation RPG (Role-playing game). With its unique system, the appearance and presentation of the game world and story as well as its charming characters have well won over many fans and popularity. Even among gamers this is a production that is highly acclaimed! (Now we're talking BIG.)

With said "Chronicles of Valkyria", how is it going to be portrayed into anime has gained noticeable attention and anticipation. From director Yasutaka Yamamoto (山本靖貴) to the main cast, everyone gave their two cents worth - introducing the production, with much enthusiasm, on stage.

As the director got on stage he was first encountered with "Is the production progressing smoothly?" With that asked he answered "Yes, thanks to the extravagant cast i'm privileged to work with, I'm able to synchronize the characters perfectly. So much so that I'm able to get hints for the production from the cast's acting."

Then cue the main cast to introduce each of the characters they play respectively. Portraying the roles of characters making their appearances include Marina Inoue (井上麻里奈) as Alicia Melchiott (アリシア・メルキオット), Hōko Kuwashima (桑島法子) as Isara Gunther (イサラ・ギュンター), Jun Fukuyama (福山潤) as Maximilian (マクシミリアン), Sayaka Ohara (大原さやか) Sayaka as Selvaria Bles (セルベリア・ブレス) - who talked about their various roles in the animation.
"(Alicia is) wrapped around Welkin's little pinky - always giving into his gullible nature." commented Inoue-san. Next was about the charm of the anime - which fans were also concerned about.

Answering that director Yamamoto spoke. "The atmosphere and mood that the game has is highly important. The flow (of the anime) is roughly similar to the game, but there are original developments as well. Romance factors, conflicts between the boys; it's a production that boasts a high quality of drama."

With a project that already has many fans as well as seeing those interesting factors being produced and expressed into animation - hearing what the director had to say, it was evident that the audience present looked forward to the release.

Following the director's comment was a first screening of the PV!

Having a first look the video clips that showed one after another Inoue-san commented, "That looks interesting." With that she was faced with a "As if you're not part of it (laugh)" retort.

In this "Valkyria Chronicles" opening theme "For the Bond of Tomorrow" (明日へのキズナ) singer HIMEKA made her appearance on stage. As a Canadian, HIMEKA fulfilled her dream wanting to be a Japanese anime singer.
"I'm really nervous right now."

Coming across as really being nervous as she spoke, she made an impression on all that was present.

In front of many fans HIMEKA sang "For the Bond of Tomorrow".
As she greeted them with a "Please support me!" the audience responded enthusiastically with "Ganbare-!" (Try your best!)
